Morocco midfielder Amine Harit was named the best player of the Morocco-Iran match, FIFA said on its website on Friday.
Harit started for Morocco and was substituted in the 82nd minute of the game, which was held at the St. Petersburg Stadium earlier on Friday, with Iran edging Morocco 1-0 thanks to a late own goal by Morocco forward Aziz Bouhaddouz.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on Thursday and will continue until 15 July, with a total of 64 matches set to be played at 12 stadiums across 11 Russian cities.
