Spain and Portugal played out an entertaining 3-3 draw in teams' first 2018 FIFA World Cup match that was held at Sochi's Fisht Stadium on Friday.

Ronaldo produced a man of the match for Portugal as he scored his 51st career hat-trick. He secured a point for his side in the 88th minute with an excellent free kick to make the score 3-3.

"When you are playing against [Cristiano] Ronaldo such moments happen just like today. I know him very well but I wouldn't swap any player on my team for him. For two thirds of the game we played confidently, but sometimes there are circumstances when a small lapse happens," Hierro said at the post-match press conference.

Spain and Portugal were both drawn in Group B alongside Morocco and Iran.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will last till 15 July, with the games set to be played at 12 stadiums across 11 Russian cities.
