Spain head coach Fernando Hierro said on Sunday that he wished Russia "all the best" at the 2018 World Cup.
Russia defeated Spain 4-3 on penalties after drawing 1-1 in the game held in Moscow. They now advance into the last eight while Spain have been eliminated from the tournament.
"We wish Russia all the best. I wish them to go as far as they deserve on the pitch. I don't know who they will face in the next match, but they can change tactics quite easily," Hierro told journalists.
In the quarter-final game, Russia will face either Denmark or Croatia.
