Hummels missed the previous group match, where Germany beat Sweden 2-1, due to a neck injury.

During the game midfielder Sebastian Rudy injured his nose after sliding into a tackle with Sweden striker Ola Toivonen and catching a boot in his face. The team suffered another blow when defender Jerome Boateng was sent off after picking up two yellow cards.

“Rudy will not be able to play tomorrow, his nose is broken in several places. He will need a few days to recover. Boateng has a red card, but the rest of the players are ready. Hummels is fit to play, no problems with him,” Low told journalists.

He added that midfielders Mesut Ozil and Sami Khedira, who also missed the match against Sweden, were “doing well in training” and could end up on the pitch in the upcoming game.

Germany are currently second in Group F with the same number of points and the same goal difference as Sweden meaning that the final Group F match will be decisive for Germany in terms of qualifying for the round of 16.
