MOSCOW, July 13 (Sputnik) - Croatia midfielder Ivan Rakitic said on Friday that hundreds of millions of people would be supporting his country in the 2018 FIFA World Cup final.
Croatia will face France in the final, which will be played at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium on Sunday.
"We respect France but everything will depend on us. We have to play properly and bring the [World Cup] trophy to Croatia. I have a feeling that hundreds of millions of people around the world will be supporting Croatia in the final... I think the world will be happy and we will win," Rakitic told journalists.
Croatia, whose previous best result was their third place at the 1998 World Cup, beat England 2-1 on Wednesday to advance to the final for the first time.
