World Cup-bound Iceland were held to a 2-2 draw by Ghana in a friendly match at the Laugardalsvöllur stadium in Reykjavik on Thursday.
Iceland defender Kari Arnason opened the scoring in the 6th minute and forward Alfred Finnbogason doubled the team’s score in the 40th minute. Ghana defender Kasim Nuhu scored a goal in the 66th minute while Thomas Partey netted Chana’s second goal in the last minutes of the match.
The FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia from June 14 to July 15, with Iceland facing two-time champions Argentina, Croatia and Nigeria in Group D.
Ghana did not qualify for this year’s tournament.
