The Day of Iceland will be held on the same day as the team will take on Nigeria in their second FIFA World Cup match. Iceland drew 1-1 with Argentina in their first game at the tournament.

"There will be a movie screening, photo exhibition and football fan paraphernalia show during the [Day of Iceland] event in the historic art-loft in Volgograd. We will also hold a unique music competition between Cossacks and Vikings," the statement said.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on 14 June and will continue until 15 July, with the matches set to be played in 11 cities across Russia.
