Marcelo trained with the rest of the Brazilian squad ahead of his side's World Cup Round of 16 clash with Mexico.
It had been reported that Marcelo, who had asked to be substituted in Brazil's 2-0 win over Serbia because of back spasm, risked missing the Mexico match.
The 30-year-old, who has been capped for Brazil 57 times, scoring six goals, was training with the rest of his squad during the first 15 minutes of their training session at the Samara Arena that were open for journalists.
The match between five-time World Cup winners Brazil and Mexico is set to take place at the Samara Arena on Tuesday morning AEST.
