Spain midfielder Isco said the World Cup round of 16 match against Russia would be "very tough" for his side, as the hosts would enjoy incredible support from their fans.
On Tuesday morning (AEST), 2010 World Cup winners Spain salvaged a last gasp equalizer in stoppage time against Morocco and topped Group B after Portugal were held to a 1-1 draw by Iran.
"It will be doubtless a tough, very tough match," Isco said post-match.
"We'll be playing against the host nation and they will enjoy tremendous support. They've played very well during the group stage despite the [3-0] defeat by Uruguay today. We know what they are capable of and we know that they can have a great match."
Spain will play Group A runners-up Russia at the Luzhniki Stadium on Sunday.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and will continue until July 15, with the matches being played in 11 cities across Russia.
