A total of 734 additional trains with 448,000 available seats have been scheduled for World Cup fans and accredited journalists.

According to the 2018 Transport Directorate, fans from 158 countries have booked 90% of free train tickets to the cities hosting group-stage matches and 68% to those hosting matches of the knockout stages.

"The free ride service in additional trains is very popular among the World Cup guests. However, not all fans who book tickets use them. Thus, a fan from Italy booked tickets in 56 different trains but used only five of them," Kirill Polyakov told journalists.

He added that passengers who have not used two or more tickets for the free trains without cancelling the booking would have their other bookings canceled, allowing other fans from the waiting list to get a ticket to a free train.
