Japanese princess Hisako Takamado won't be attending her national team's final group game at the World Cup after leaving Russia on Monday.
"Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado left on Monday," an employee of the Japanese Embassy in Russia said.
The princess, who is an Honorary Patron of the Japan Football Association, visited the Russian city of Saransk to support her national team during their 2-1 win over Colombia before traveling to Yekaterinburg to watch Japan draw 2-2 with Senegal.
Princess Takamado was the first member of the Japanese Imperial Family to visit Russia since World War I.
Group H leaders Japan will take on Poland, who have already been knocked out of the World Cup, in Volgograd at midnight AEST tomorrow night.
