Manchester United head coach Jose Mourinho has predicted Australia to finish second in Group C and qualify for the 2018 World Cup knockout stages.
Speaking to RT Television Channel, Mourinho predicted all qualifiers by group, including tipping the hosts Russia to progress.
However, he also boldly predicted the Socceroos to be involved in a "big fight" for second but to edge Denmark and Peru.
"I think France, no problems, will finish first," Mourinho said.
"Big fight to finish second. I'll go for a surprise. Cmon Australia, let's finish second!"

The ex-Chelsea and Real Madrid boss also said Uruguay will top Group A ahead of the Russians.
"I think Russia has to finish second and the crucial match will be Russia against Egypt," he said.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held in 11 Russian cities from June 14 to July 15.
