Manchester United head coach Jose Mourinho has predicted Australia to finish second in Group C and qualify for the 2018 World Cup knockout stages.
Speaking to RT Television Channel, Mourinho predicted all qualifiers by group, including tipping the hosts Russia to progress.
However, he also boldly predicted the Socceroos to be involved in a "big fight" for second but to edge Denmark and Peru.
"I think France, no problems, will finish first," Mourinho said.
"Big fight to finish second. I'll go for a surprise. Cmon Australia, let's finish second!"
