Kazan mayor Ilsur Metshin has advised employers in the city to shorten the working day on Friday, when the city hosts the World Cup quarter-final between Belgium and Brazil.
"Kazan's heads of organisations have been recommended to end the working day at 2pm. The corresponding decree was signed by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin," said the mayor's office.
According to the decree, the measure is aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the city's facilities and reducing the load on the transportation system.
Belgium will play five-time champions Brazil at the Kazan Arena on at 9:00pm on Friday local time (4:00am on Saturday morning AEST).
The match will be the last of the six World Cup games played in Kazan.
