MOSCOW, June 1 (Sputnik) - Hertha midfielder Mathew Leckie scored a double to help World Cup-bound Australia pummel the Czech Republic 4-0 in their last but one warm-up friendly before this summer's tournament that took place in the Austrian city of St. Polten on Friday.
Leckie opened the scoring from close range in the 32nd minute, before fellow midfielder Andrew Nabbout doubled the Socceroos' lead soon after the break. Leckie scored his second in the 72nd minute, while Czech Republic defender Jakub Jugas netted an own goal 10 minutes from time.
The Socceroos will face Hungary in their final warm-up friendly before heading for the World Cup in Russia, which kicks off on June 14.
The Czech Republic finished third in their group during the World Cup qualifiers and will not play at the tournament.
Russia's first-ever FIFA World Cup will take place from June 14 to July 15 in 11 host cities. Australia were drawn in Group C alongside 1998 World Cup winners France, Denmark and Peru.
