According to the pollster, a total of 56% of the respondents said that Russia would be able to advance to the last four, while 15 percent of them believe that Croatia would beat the hosts.

The results also showed that 65 percent of Russians will be watching the broadcast of the match at home or at work and only 0.4 percent will be attending the game at the stadium.

Almost 30 percent of the respondents said they did not intend to watch the match at all.

The poll was conducted among 1,600 respondents aged 18 or older on Wednesday with the margin of error not exceeding 2.5 percentage points.

The quarter-final clash will take place at Sochi's Fisht Stadium on Saturday with the kick-off set for 21:00 Moscow time (18:00 GMT).

The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and will continue until July 15, with the matches being played in 11 cities across Russia.
