The 22-year-old, who has been playing for Manchester City since 2016, has been capped 11 times for Germany, and played at the 2016 UEFA European Championship. Sane scored 14 goals and made 19 assists for his club in 49 games in all competitions last season.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia from June 14 to July 15 with the games set to take place at 12 stadiums in 11 cities across the country.

Reigning champions Germany will face Mexico, Sweden and South Korea in Group F at the tournament.
