Mexico defender Rafael Marquez has become the third player to take part in five World Cups after coming on as a substitute in the 74th minute during his side's match against Germany at the 2018 World Cup.
Marquez joined his fellow countryman Antonio Carbajal and German Lothar Matthaus as the only players to participate at five World Cup tournaments.
Mexico defeated defending champions Germany 1-0 in teams' first FIFA World Cup match at the Luzhniki Stadium in the Russian capital on Sunday.
Mexico will take on South Korea on Saturday and Sweden on 27 June.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on Thursday and will continue until 15 July, with the matches set to be played in 11 cities across Russia.
