Serbia defender Nemanja Matic said on Wednesday that the difference in class between his side and Brazil in their final Group E match was evident.
"We did everything we could to reach the knockout stage. Even though we played well, we tried but we failed. It's always difficult to play against such team as Brazil, they played well. They are one of the favorites of the World Cup. They have plenty of top-level players. It was really difficult for us to play Brazil, it just a higher class of opponent," Matic said.
Five-time World Cup champions Brazil beat Serbia 2-0 knocking them off the tournament.
Brazil will now face Mexico in Samara on July 2.
