Kylian Mbappe became the youngest France player ever to have scored for Les Bleus at a World Cup as he gave his side a 1-0 victory over Peru, which sent Didier Deschamps's team into the round of 16 of the tournament in Russia.
Mbappe, who is 19 years and 183 days old, shaved more than a year off the previous record held by David Trezeguet, who scored for France at their home World cup in 1998 when he was 20 years and 246 days old.
Mbappe chipped the ball into an empty net from close range in the 34th minute after Olivier Giroud's strike was saved by Peru goalkeeper Pedro Gallese.
After suffering back-to-back defeats in their opening two matches, Peru have been knocked out of the tournament.
