France forward Kylian Mbappe said on Thursday that scoring at the World Cup is every football player's dream, after netting the only goal in their match against Peru at the Yekaterinburg Arena.
"I am very happy that I managed to score and our team will advance. I am ready to do whatever the team needs to win. Scoring at the World Cup is a dream of every player, and I am not an exception," Mbappe told journalists.
19-year-old striker earned his team a guaranteed spot in the Round of 16 and became the youngest player to score in the history of the tournament at 19 years and 183 days of age.
France is now in the first place of the group table with six points, followed by Denmark with four points. Peru had lost both of their games and will not be advancing to the knockout stage.
