Belgium defender Thomas Meunier said Monday that his team hoped to reach the knockout stage at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
"Perhaps, we started slowly because we were worried. We've been working for two years for the sake of this game [against Panama] and this tournament... We respect all the rivals. The next two games [against Tunisia and England] will clear up many things, we hope to reach the knockout stage. This World Cup is decisive for many of us," Meunier told journalists.
Belgium, who beat Panama 3-0 in the teams' first World Cup match in Sochi earlier on Monday, are to face Tunisia on Saturday and England on 28 June.
