“I cannot imagine a better feeling. I am very proud to play in the World Cup final. When I was called up to Croatia team, of course, I had dreams and the World Cup final was the biggest one. We will have plenty of energy in this match, it is a historical game for Croatia. All 4.5 million Croatians will step out on the pitch in this match. We want to leave the World Cup with our heads held high,” Rakitic told journalist.

Croatia beat England 2-1 in the semi-final at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium on Wednesday, earning a shot at becoming one of the smallest countries in history to become the new World Champions.

The final between 1998 World Cup winners France and Croatia will take place at the Luzhniki Stadium on Sunday.
