Croatia midfielder Luka Modric said on Saturday that his team would look to take their good group-stage form into the knockout rounds of the FIFA World Cup.
Croatia won all three of their group stage matches and finished top of Group D with a maximum nine points. They will face Group C runners-up Denmark in Nizhny Novgorod on Monday morning in the last 16.
“The fact that Denmark have not lost 18 straight matches clearly defines their qualities," said Modric.
"But we believe in ourselves and will continue following the trajectory we established earlier in the tournament. In the World Cup knockout stage we will play as good as we did at the group stage."
The Real Madrid maestro added that it did not matter who scored on Sunday, as long as the team continued playing in the tournament.
