Croatia captain and midfielder Luka Modric was named the man of the match after he helped his side to defeat two-time World Cup champions Argentina 3-0 in their second Group D match in Nizhny Novgorod on Thursday.
After a goalless first half, Ante Rebic opened the scoring in the 53rd minute. Modric curled a stunning shot into the top right corner from outside the penalty area in the 80th minute, and Ivan Rakitic tripled his side's lead in the final minute.
Croatia, who secured their place in the round of 16 having earned maximum points from their opening two games, will take on Iceland in their final group game in Rostov-on-Don on 26 June, while Argentina will next face Nigeria in St. Petersburg Stadium the same day.
