Moscow is coping well with the influx of tourists visiting the city for the World Cup, the mayor of the Russia capital Sergey Sobyanin said.
“There is barely any room in the streets and the fan zones due to the volume of people. As many as 50,000 people are gathering in the fan zones instead of our estimated 25,000, [...] but we are coping,” Sobyanin said.
The mayor added that the Moscow Metro was also dealing well with the increased volume of people.
Moscow is one of 11 Russian cities hosting matches at the World Cup.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on 14 June and will continue until 15 July.
