MOSCOW, June 1 (Sputnik) - Football fans traveling to and from FIFA World Cup matches in Moscow will be able to ride some of the city's buses and trams for free, Head of Moscow’s Transport Department Maksim Liksutov told Sputnik Friday.
“The fans will be able to ride buses, trolleybuses and trams servicing the stadiums and the city center for free. This transport will be marked with special stickers,” Liksutov said, adding that a total of 45 regular routes will be free of charge for the fans on match days.
The fans will need to show the conductor their Fan ID and match tickets to get a free ride.
Liksutov added that volunteers and people accredited by FIFA will be able to travel for free in Moscow's surface public transport for the entire duration of the World Cup.
Russia's first-ever FIFA World Cup will take place at 12 stadiums in 11 cities from June 14 to July 15. Moscow will host a total of 12 matches across two arenas, including the opening game and the final.
