MOSCOW, June 4 (Sputnik) - Manuel Neuer will travel to Russia for the FIFA World Cup this summer as Germany first-choice goaltender and captain, the team announced on their official Twitter account on Monday.
Earlier on Monday, the 32-year-old, who had been out injured since September before playing for Germany in Saturday's 2-1 defeat by Austria, was named in Joachim Low's final squad for the World Cup.
Neuer has been capped 75 times by his country, helping his side win the 2014 FIFA World Cup when he was awarded the Golden Glove for being the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia from June 14 to July 15 with the games set to take place at 12 stadiums in 11 cities across the country.
Defending champions Germany will face Mexico, Sweden and South Korea in Group F at the tournament.
