Brazil forward Neymar said on Monday that he was not paying attention to any criticism during the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Brazil defeated Mexico in the round of 16 match at the Samara Arena on Monday. Neymar was named the man of the match.
"Criticism is an attempt to defame me. I'm not much worried about criticism, neither about positive feedback, as it influences a sportsman as well... I'm here to play, to help my team and to win. Today I was feeling much better. I'm happy for my team, and I congratulate them, we're improving constantly," Neymar told journalists.
Brazil had ten shots on target against Mexico, with goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa saving eight of them.
"Ochoa is a great goalkeeper, everybody knows that. I congratulate Mexico on a wonderful match. But I don't give up, I'm a Brazilian. My goal was a result of my engagement with the game and my will," Neymar added.
Brazil, who last failed to make it to the quarter-finals in 1990, will play either Belgium or Japan in the last eight in Kazan on Friday.
