"The region, and Yessentuki, in particular, where the team will be based, are perfectly ready to welcome the guests. The team are expected to arrive on June 12; at 17:00 (14:00 GMT) the same day [the team's] open training session will be held at the Yessentuki Arena," the press service said in a statement.

According to the statement, more than 500 people will be admitted to the training session, with most of them being students of children's sports schools.

"The Nigerian team will stay at the resort city [of Yessentuki] at least until the end of the group stage," the statement said.

The FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia from June 14 till July 15, with Nigeria facing two-time champions Argentina, Iceland and Croatia in Group D.
