FIFA President Gianni Infantino said on Wednesday that the 68th FIFA Congress was the first congress, since he took charge of world football's governing body in 2016, that did not suspend or exclude members.
The congress started in Moscow on Wednesday morning, a day before the 2018 FIFA World Cup gets underway in Moscow.
"I am very happy because it's the first time it's happening in a congress that I'm chairing that we have no suspended member and obviously no member for whom we will request an expulsion so this agenda item is very quick, and these are good news, this is something that we said we wanted and we worked for in the last year," Infantino said.
Russia will host its first World Cup from June 14 to July 15, with the fixtures set to be played at 12 stadiums across 11 cities.
