MOSCOW, June 2 (Sputnik) - World Cup-bound Iceland suffered 3-2 defeat at the hands of Norway in a friendly match held in Reykjavik on Saturday.
Norway forward Bjorn Johnsen opened the score in the 15th minute only for Iceland Alfred Finnbogason to balance it out with the penalty 15 minutes later. Gylfi Sigurdsson and Josh King added the second goal for each team in the 70th and 80th minute respectively while Alexander Sorloth sealed Norway's victory in the 85th minute.
Russia's first-ever FIFA World Cup will take place from June 14 to July 15 in 11 cities across country.
Iceland qualified for the World Cup Finals for the first time and were drawn in Group D where they will face Argentina, Croatia and Nigeria.
Norway did not qualify for the upcoming tournament.
