Russian President Vladimir Putin does not plan to come to St. Petersburg for a World Cup match between national football teams of Russia and Egypt scheduled for June 19, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.
"So far, it's not working out," Peskov said, asked whether the Russian leader might attend the second game of the Russian team.
Earlier in the day, Kremlin press service said that Putin would visit Belarus on June 19 to attend the Supreme State Council of the Union State, as well as for talks with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off in Russia on Thursday with the Russian national team having beaten Saudi Arabia 5-0. Earlier on Friday, Uruguay defeated Egypt 1-0 in a match between Russia's two next opponents.
