More than 212,000 citizens have signed an online petition on the the UK Parliament's official website asking for a new bank holiday if England win the World Cup.
"If England win the World Cup, the Monday should be made a bank holiday for 2018. We need this for all those supporting England as the next day will not be pleasant for all fans," the online petition read.
The date of the parliamentary debate on the initiative is to be set on Thursday since just over 100,000 signatures are required for the petition to be considered by the parliament.
England will take on Croatia in their first World Cup semi-finals since 1990 in Moscow at 4:00am AEST on Thursday morning.
Should they win, Gareth Southgate's side will face France at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium in the final on Monday.
