Over 350,000 Moscow metro passengers watched Russia beat Spain in the World Cup round of 16 match on screens installed in the trains.
Hosts Russia beat 2010 World Cup winners Spain on penalties to reach the quarter-finals for the first time since the break-up of the Soviet Union in 1991.
"More than 350,000 passengers watched our national team's historic victory on the screens in the trains. The match was broadcast live on 8,720 screens in 1,896 metro coaches," the metro press service said, adding that more than 14 million passengers have watched the World Cup games since the tournament's opening.
