A total of 42,300 supporters attended the FIFA World Cup match between Sweden and South Korea in the Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod, FIFA said via its official Twitter account on Monday.
The match ended in a 1-0 victory to Sweden with defender and captain Andreas Granqvist breaking the deadlock from the penalty spot in the 65th minute of the game.
The 45,000-seater Nizhny Novgorod Arena will host another three group-stage games, a round of 16 match and a quarter-final.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on 14 June and will continue until 15 July, with the matches set to be played in 11 cities across Russia.
