According to the survey conducted by the Mediascope research company, a total of 8,194,000 Russians aged four and older watched the match, while 16,961,000 people based in Russia watched the broadcast for at least a minute.

Russia suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Uruguay in the teams' final group-stage game but qualified for the knockout stage as Group A runners-up.

The host nation will face Group B winners Spain in their round of 16 match on Sunday.
