Damian adds: "Club level: With the majority of European leagues coming to an end for 2008/09, promotion and relegation scraps highlight the news reel. In terms of impact to Aussies Abroad, Leicester City moving back to the Championship will be positive for the Aussies there.

"Also a time of year where finishing well in the league will result in qualification for the UEFA Cup and Champions League. The next few weeks will be fascinating.

"The A-League pre-season has commenced, with several big names returning, will be interesting to see who else returns and those players that go back the other way and forge a career in Europe.

"National level :- quiet month for the Socceroos however the Joeys have been in action. An U20 camp coming up in Europe, will be interesting to see if some of the names on this database end up representing our country.

Youth Player of the Month: Jack Watts. A 17 year old product of the academy, he has forced his way into the reserve set-up at Barnsley and celebrated by banging in a few goals.
