Panama’s World Cup squad have arrived in Saransk in the Republic of Mordovia - some 650 kilometers (400 miles) south east of Moscow, a local government spokesperson told Sputnik on Thursday.
“The plane with the Panama squad landed at Saransk airport at 20:00 [local time, 17:00 GMT],” the spokesperson said, adding that the team will head to their base camp following a welcoming ceremony.
The team’s base camp is located in the Olympic Training Center in Saransk, which is one of the host cities of the tournament. Panama will play Belgium, England and Tunisia in Group G.
Russia will host the FIFA World Cup from June 14 to July 15, with Saransk hosting four group stage games.
