About 20,000 people are expected to watch the World Cup semi-final between France and Belgium on a huge screen installed in Paris in front of the mayor's office.
The two teams will play each other at the St. Petersburg Stadium, with the kick-off due at 4:00am AEST on Wednesday morning.
No screens for watching the World Cup had previously been installed in public places in France before due to security concerns.
According to the French daily 20 minutes, Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo said that a huge screen would be set up in the square near her office if France reach the last four.
A total of 1,200 policemen will provide security in the French capital during the game.
Hidalgo is also expected to visit the fan zone, as she did during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
