Russian President Vladimir Putin will not attend the World Cup match between the national football teams of Russia and Uruguay due to a 'tight schedule'.
Russia will take on Uruguay in Samara at 17:00 Moscow time (14:00 GMT) on Monday. Both teams have already qualified for the round of 16.
"No. Unfortunately his schedule will not permit him," said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, when asked whether Putin would be in attendance.
Russia is currently hosting its first-ever World Cup, with the matches being played at 11 cities. Putin has so far only attended the opening ceremony and first match between Russia and Saudi Arabia.
