Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that Russia's goal was to let every visitor of the 2018 FIFA World Cup feel the "cordiality and goodwill" of the Russian people.
"Our goal is to let all our guests, from football stars to ordinary fans, feel the cordiality and the goodwill of our people, take a liking to the original multinational culture and the unique nature of Russia, so that they should want to come back to us," Putin said at the 68th FIFA Congress in Moscow.
The FIFA World Cup kicks off on Thursday and will last till July 15.
