A member of FIFA’s Technical Study Group, Bora Milutinovic, says that even though Qatar was a very hot country, it was technically possible to keep the temperatures cool at the stadiums during matches.
Qatar will host the World Cup in 2022, with the tournament moved to November and December instead of its traditional time frame of June and July, because of the country's climate.
"It's going to be as hot as you like in Qatar. I can tell it from my experience as a coach there. Before the match, I was asked what air temperatures I wanted for the match. And they just switched the AC on and you got the temperature you needed. That's a wonderful experience," Milutinovic told journalists.
In 2004-2005 the Serbian, who managed five different teams at five consecutive World Cups, was the head coach of Qatari club Al Sadd.
