"I don't take much notice of the majority of reports in the press and especially the English one, I am often ironic [about them]. We are working, Russia will fulfill all its obligations and I am sure in terms of security, there will definitely be no questions. I do not want to comment on the English tabloids again," Alaev told journalists.

He added that football fans arriving in Russia for the tournament would find excellent facilities at their disposal in order to watch World Cup matches at the various stadiums.

On Monday, the UK tabloid The Daily Star published an article containing quotes from anonymous UK football fans promising to start «World War Three» and «wipe the floor with the Russian Ultras» during the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The article also claimed that some of them had already headed over to Russia to «investigate several towns and gather information» in order to launch attacks against local fans.

Earlier, the UK media had repeatedly published provocative materials on fans' behavior at the upcoming World Cup.

Russia's first-ever World Cup will be held between June 14 and July 15 at 12 arenas in 11 cities across the country.
