Zenit St. Petersburg forward Aleksandr Kokorin said on Wednesday that Russia would defeat Croatia in their quarter-final match and could reach the FIFA World Cup final.
Russia will take on Croatia at Sochi's Fisht Stadium on Sunday morning (AEST). If head coach Stanislav Cherchesov's team wins the encounter, they will face the winner of the match between England and Sweden.
"Croatia looked well during their games, but Russia have such opponents that they can reach the semi-finals, and then the final," Kokorin told Zenit's official website.
"I think that we'll beat Croatia. I'll try to predict the score - it'll be 1-0."
Kokorin suffered a serious knee injury in March and was not called up to the World Cup squad.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and will continue until July 15, with the matches being played in 11 cities across Russia.
