MOSCOW, June 7 (Sputnik) - Russia defender Ilya Kutepov said on Thursday that the team was taking criticism in a relaxed way and would look to correct any mistakes before the start of 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Russia were held to a 1-1 draw by Turkey in Moscow on Tuesday in their final warm-up match ahead of the World Cup, with the result extending their winless streak to seven games.
"We take criticism in a relaxed way as we have a job to do. We have our own critics – the coach, as well as our family and friends. It's clear that the fans always want their team to win. We will correct our mistakes ahead of the World Cup... Everything will be different," Kutepov told journalists.
The 24-year-old, who plays for Spartak Moscow, has been capped seven times for Russia and was named in the country's final 23-man World Cup squad on Sunday.
Russia will kick off the World Cup on June 14 when they take on Saudi Arabia in the opening match at the 81,000-seater Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. The two teams will also face Egypt and Uruguay in Group A.
