Russia midfielder Aleksandr Yerokhin said on Sunday that the team cared who they would face in the World Cup quarter-finals.
Russia beat Spain on penalties at Moscow's Luzhniki stadium earlier on Sunday. The two teams drew 1-1 after extra time, but Russia managed to beat Spain 4-3 on penalties, with Akinfeev saving Koke's and Iago Aspas’ penalties.
"Of course, we do care who we will play against in the quarter-finals, but we will be prepared for any opponent who we may face. We will watch their matches [Denmark and Croatia] from a tactical point of view and we'll study aspects of their play," Yerokhin told journalists.
Russia have reached their first-ever World Cup quarter-finals since the break-up of the Soviet Union and will face the winner of Croatia and Denmark’s encounter. The quarterfinal will take place at Fisht Stadium in Sochi on 7 July.
