"In the end everything turned out fine [in Belgium], but I'm never happy with myself and my time there was no exception. I let in a lot of goals, didn't read what [the papers] wrote about me, but I realized that I can't avoid criticism. It's fine. It was a different competition [Belgian First Division A], a new team, new environment, I needed some time to get used to it. But I've thought [everything] through and it will get better in the future," Gabulov told journalists.

The goalkeeper was the latest player to join Russia's training camp in the Austrian town of Neustift where the squad will be training until May 31 and will play Austria in a pre-World Cup friendly in Innsbruck on May 30.

The 34-year-old has been capped 10 times for Russia since his international debut in 2007.

Russia's first-ever World Cup will be held between June 14 and July 15 at 12 arenas in 11 cities across the country. Russia will face Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay in Group A.
