Cheryshev scored Russia's second goal of the match with a good close range finish following an excellent cross by Mario Fernandes. The forward, who plays his club football in Spain, is the tournament's joint top scorer with three goals.

"The man of the match Denis Cheryshev is undergoing a doping test, so he couldn't come to the press conference," a host said.

Russia currently have six points after their second group-stage match and are in with an excellent chance of reaching the knockout stage.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and will continue until July 15, with the matches set to be played in 11 cities across Russia.
