Russia have a better chance now to defeat Spain than ten years ago in the semi-final of UEFA Euro 2008, former Russia forward Dmitry Cheryshev said on Saturday.
Russia will face Spain in Moscow on Monday morning. In 2008, they lost to Spain 3-0.
“I would love a draw, but there cannot be one. The Russian national team has significantly more chances to defeat Spain than ten years ago in the Euro 2008 semi-final. Spain have a totally different team, many new players who lack such experience as the team of Euro 2008,” said Cheryshev.
He is the father of current Russia midfielder Denis Cheryshev.
