Russian Football Union spokesman Igor Vladimirov said on Tuesday he hoped that Russia midfielder Aleksandr Samedov would resume training with the rest of the squad on Wednesday.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Russian team said that Samedov would train individually "after undergoing a check-up of his fitness shape."
"Samedov is training according to an individual program but we hope it's only for today," Vladimirov told journalists.
The 33-year-old Spartak Moscow player started for Russia in their penalty shootout win over Spain in the World Cup last 16 on Sunday, but was substituted on the hour mark.
